2025 SAFETY SUMMIT

The first ever WSTIP Safety Summit aims to bring safety and security professionals together for a comprehensive exploration of best practices, emerging trends, and innovative solutions in workplace and public safety. The event features a subject matter expert to facilitate interactive workshops and panel discussions covering critical topics such as risk management, regulatory compliance, safety technology, mental health in the workplace, and emergency preparedness. Attendees have the opportunity to network with peers, exchange insights, and gain actionable strategies to enhance safety cultures within their organizations. With a strong emphasis on collaboration and continuous improvement, the Safety Summit serves as a valuable platform for fostering a proactive approach to safety and promoting a shared commitment to protecting people and property.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Safety and Security Managers are invited to exchange information about best practices, risk recommendations, reporting requirements and network with other transit agencies on topics of interest.

TOPICS

This forum will address the following items to increase the knowledge base of established practices: 

  • Overview of SMS and implementation
  • Refresher on accident prevention plans
  • Safety performance targets
  • Agency risk performance metrics regarding safety
  • Training to develop a script and best practices for de-escalation and fare enforcement
  • Networking
  • Address emerging risks and opportunities
